    Is he just a lesser?

I don't know why I didn't notice before, but I had both of my lessers out and noticed that the boy's yellows seemed brighter and he had some deeper black colors than the female. Is this a common occurrence, or does he maybe have some pastel in him or something?

Here he is next to the female:

The one on e left looks more like a butter to me, although they all have the same gene pool.

Re: Is he just a lesser?

they are both just lessers. I like the one on the left, I'm a big fan on the clean pattern look. nice snake!

pastel lessers will have a different eye color than lessers, and the yellow stripe that runs across the top of their eyes, usually will be kind of jagged looking and not smooth like yours because of the head blushing that the pastel gene will usually do to a lesser. if you go into my profile I have pics of a lesser and pastel lessers that came from the same clutch. notice the difference in their top head stripe. hope this helps, don

That's what happens when you get higher contrast and lower contrast animals. The darks on the male also help accentuate the yellows, IMO there is less variation between the yellows between the two (in the picture) than there is variation in the dark areas.

Re: Is he just a lesser?

Both are just lessers. They just vary in color contrast. Pastel lessers have light head and intense yellow coloration. I do agree w/ ace_singapore though, the one on the left is typical of a butter , though they share the same gene pool, differentiating one from another is really hard due to their variability nowadays. Regardless, they are both beautiful specimens
