    Hatchlings making their debut

Of the 12 good eggs, 8 have hatched and exited so far. Three more are pipped, and the last one appears to be dead in the egg I'm afraid...full pigmentation and everything, but no obvious movement and it just has that "feel" to it.

But anyway, we got three different looks out of this clutch. About half the reds are very, very dark to the point where they almost look black, and the other half are really light red. The yellows are pretty standard, although a few have an unbroken dorsal stripe which I'm a big fan of

Our mite phase juvies were the real dark red as hatchlings so I'm hoping that these will turn into that eventually...although I'm definitely hoping to have them all sold off by then so I guess I'll never find out...lol

I'll get more shots after their first shed once we start the process of feeding, but I knew I couldn't post anything about hatchlings without photos, so here are a few from the remaining pipped snakes.

    Give me a few minutes...lol.

I'll get a picture of one of the dark red ones (they've all hatched). Those ones above are actually the lighter ones.

Nope - after a year or so they start going through a color change where they'll switch over to their adult colors. Sometimes they retain some black, and they'll usually gain some yellows as they get older even if they were red to start out with.
