welp i freaked out and emptied all the wood from the enclosure lol. i laid paper towels down. but now my question is...is she gonna be able to get under it and sit on top of the heaty pad and burn herself? cus that was my reasoning for putting the carpet, and on top i put the repti bark

If you have your heat attached to a thermostat and set to the proper temperature(90-94) then there is no chance of the snake getting burned!

Just check the temperature right against the glass and make sure it's within the hot spot range. BPs can and will burrow down to it, and paper towels/newspaper are thin enough that they won't be much cooler on the top

Re: my cat attacked my snake...

The bugs are deff wood mites, I had them from my repti bark too, I just ran water through it and strained the stuff, a lot. It really helped getting rid of all the nasty dust in there too, the water comes out red looking.

I guess you can bake it too...

Re: my cat attacked my snake...

I never never never even let my cat in the same room with my snakes because he would swat at them and try to hurt them.
