Thanks for all the advice guys, really appreciate it . I drew up some rough plans today for the new Viv and waterfall, I'll be putting them up on AutoCAD soon and I can post some of those once I get some nice renders (who thought being an Architecture major would help my Herp addiction? ). I'm also working on some kind of "new" designs for heating systems for homemade Viv's. Here is a quick mock up on paint:

Few things to note when looking at this picture:
-Astro turf would have a Velcro connection to the peg board.
-The Peg board has one small hole every square inch, hole diameter is smaller than a centimeter.

I realize there are some serious issues with this heating system, for example; any water that gets through the two permeable forms of support for the substrate (peg board/astro turf) could potentially contact the UTH. How bad would this be? Also, while it would be nice to be able to remove the whole floor to access the heat system etc. it would be a pain to remove EVERYTHING in an enclosure just to see your heat units (especially with a waterfall...).

Anyways, wondering what your thoughts are on this one, I have another mock up, a little more basic and perhaps more practical, tell me if you guys think this will provide sufficient belly heat:

Sadly this one came out small... But you should be able to get the idea. My concern is that the heat won't be able to pass through the board very well, unless its quite thin. Anyone have much experience with this?

These were hastily put up, but I was wondering what you guys think of them. This will be my last comment in this thread regarding my new Viv though, I will move the rest of it to a new thread once I start the Project Log.

Cheers!
