    Exclamation Urgent help needed!

My cali king snake is 1 and the half yrs old and he was eating well! Until last month came...and im getting really upset with him being afraid even wen i feed and refusing to eat :/ whats the prob about it?

i'm not handling him either so he musnt be stressed...(he is too agresive to be handled) now im thinking of getting rid of him ...and getting some friendly corn or ball python!

Any Suggestions & help about feeding and calming him down maybe?

    Thanks,
    NParas

What is your cage set up like? Temps? Is it near a window? Where do you live? All of these questions may pertain to the problems you're having. The snake may just not want to eat and needs to be cooled for the winter.

As for the handling part, some cal kings just don't calm down.....at least in my experience. I used to keep a collection of about 150 of them. Some were just biters. I can't imagine at that age it's too large to handle. Most of the time if they are showing defensive behavior in the cage, they are fine once out.

    Lightbulb Re: Urgent help needed!

My cage... just substrate and hides and water! a heat mat which i leave on in winter is the temp he gets...as i was told it heats up just to a good temp and not anymore! yes its near a window! I'm in Malta atm! ...

Actually the prob isn't cause he doesnt want to eat...its because hes a savage and i wanted something calm and playful like a corn or ball pyhton...but when i bought him i was told he's a typical corn character :@ ...

I dont actually know how much his bite hurts...he's still small but i cant tell..never got bit yet! used to handle him bfr but i missed 2 weeks..then he started to be aggresive and i got fed up! ...he's so nice in his cage .. but am thinking to part exchange :/ im bored of it know !

i agree either give it to someone willing to take care of it or decide to comit to it,... i have one that strikes everytime the cage is opened but she is an angel once out
