Buying a morph need $ help
Hey everyone ive been asking people how much they paid for they snakes and ive been getting such a huge range or prices for the same morphs. Like one young guy got a mojo for 125 another girl got one for 450. Ive talked to people trying to sell me a pastel for 325 but ive talked to another guy and he told me no more then 250.
I want to get a pastel, enchi, mojo, spider and butter maybe a lesser P. But how much should i pay, im aware that the ringers will cost more and the cleaner the pattern the more but still if it was a normal straight up looking snake for its morph how much should i be paying? i dont want to find out after i buy it that ive been riddin like a rented mule lol.
If possible could i get M & F prices i know boys are cheaper.

Re: Buying a morph need $ help
I wouldn't ask people how much they spent on a particular morph because everyone's circumstances are going to be different. If the snake was bought two years ago (or even a year ago) then it probably cost more than the same morph would cost today. The age of the snake plays a big part in its price, too. The older the snake, the more it is worth...especially females. And of course, as you already mentioned, quality plays a part as well. And sometimes someone will score an especially good deal at a show, or from a friend...and toss that price out into the mix, making you think anyone should be able to buy at that price. It can all get very confusing.
I'm sure some folks will chime in and give you some general price ranges on those morphs...but mostly you just need to do your homework. Study the ads on kingsnake and fauna and see how much they're selling for. Different breeders/sellers are going to charge different prices, but you should be able to get a decent idea of a reasonable range for each morph.
There's no secret formula or set price list somewhere that you can look at to judge if you got a good deal or not. In the end it boils down to how much you're willing to pay to be happy to have that particular animal in your collection. It shouldn't matter what someone else paid for an entirely different animal (same morph perhaps, but different animal bought under different circumstances).
Good luck!

Spider: Male: 150-175 Female: 225
Pastel: Male: 100 Female: 175
Mojave: Male: 175 Female: 225

prices are always subject to extreme differences.
An animal is only willing what you are willing to pay for it.
My suggestion? Know EXACTLY what you're looking for, and when you find it, don't be stingy. Be willing to pay top dollar if you know that you've found "the one".
If you haven't found "the one", keep looking.

So if i real want it i can get taken right? If i had a nice pastel and you really wanted it and it was say 200 youd by it but if i was selling it for 500 or 650 would you still buy itÉ
This i why im asking for a range for a normal looking snake i know the whole song and dance about the one is the one is the one and you should be willing to pay w.e sounds liek a breeding trying to keep there prices up.
Sooo real people how much would you spend on a baby and thank you very much Jefrow for a range list or prices.

To get a general idea of a particular morph, visit Kingsnake.com.
When I went shopping for a cinny female, I studied the Hunter's Guide to Morphs here to know what I should look for in a cinny. I also did a search here and looked at maybe a hundred pictures of cinnamons, until I knew what I wanted MY cinny to look like.
Then I hit Kingsnake, did a search for cinnamon and started looking at prices. Sure there were some low-balls and a few high, but I was able to narrow down the price range to around $75 + or - either way.
I looked at every cinny at the next show, found a few I liked, but not anything to write home about, so to speak. I also saw my price range was fairly accurate. At the last table I visited, I found MY cinny. She was everything I wanted in the morph and more. I knew she was a once-in-a-lifetime find. I also knew she'd be more expensive than most of the others I looked at. However, when I asked her price, she came in under the upper limit I set for myself, and she came home with me.
Bottom line, do your research, know what you are looking for in YOUR particular snake, then decide what is a fair price to you, based on the average prices you see online.
