I do think that sometimes they need to "re-scent" their enclosures once we've cleaned them, and defecating is one way to do so.

You're lucky you only had 3 to worry about - try cleaning 50+ and before you're done the first ones have already dirtied their enclosures.

I can only imagine having to clean out that many enclosures. With my luck I would have to re-clean 40 of the the next morning. lol

rofl these are funny stories until i have to go through it myself. the only story i got for this is when my girl left me a present but messed up everything in the area it was in. i was passing by and noticed the mess and went
"ah man now i gotta fix that." so i opened up her terrarium and reached in to put the mulch back in place and, well, thats how i found the nice present she left me, still warm to my dismay and partially hidden.
talk about disgusting!
i washed my hand in hot soapy water, replaced the mulch and then washed up again THEN used hand sanitizer...hey i wasnt takin' ANY chances!
i swear my girl looked smug after that, like she was thinking
"HA! gotcha!"
it was the day before she finished up a shed. i've heard they usually poo just after a shed but she did her thing the day before so that kinda threw me off cuz i was expecting it afterwards.
i will tell you though, going through that made me alot wiser about just reaching in before scoping out the scene first, lol.
