I don't use substrate so its hard for me to give you any advice. If you are having trouble with humidity I will assume you are using a tank? If so cover the screen with aluminum and that should help as well. Also during a shed you can take a damp hand towel and put it over the screen as well as take a wash cloth and dampen it and put it over the warm hide.
