Nope - if you'd see a hatchling in person you'd understand why. Their tails are TINY and fragile. Honestly I don't know if my smallest probe would even be small enough for a hatchling. The usual rule is to wait at least a year and til they're a couple hundred grams or so (they're like 12g when they hatch) because you can damage the tail/spine when they're real young but it might not show up til later on.
To the OP: Nice chondros by the way...do you just have the reds or did you end up with any yellows?

do they all turn green, sorry for the dumb question i just think they are so beautiful as babys yellow and red dont know what type this one is but thought I would ask. absoloutley amazing photography.
