well see, when i talked to the tech support ppl about the cord they said the humidity sensor is inside the unit but didnt mention anything about a temp sensor since we were talking about the cord.
overall, it was better for me to cut the cord off so that i dont have cords going all over the place posing the risk of my snake getting tangled up in it.
i dont really worry too much about ambient temps unless i know they're low due to the house/room being really cold but that doesnt happen cuz i keep my house's heater going and its set to stay at 75 which is warm enough.
