When I go to feed if he is in his hide should I remove it from the tank or use another method to get him to come out? Scenting to wake him up?

Tong feeding and doing the little mouse dance or just leave the prey in the tank by his hide opening to allow a naturalistic hunt?

Any tips and or tricks would be appreciated. I look forward to hearing what you have been successful with in the past after bringing you BP home.

Im no expert but this is how our bp's first feeding went: Thawed out the rat pup to room temp using luke warm water (bout 30 min). Then warmed up for few sec using hair dryer. Opened the tub and dangled the dinner in front of her. She immediately showed interest. I shook it a little and she struck at it so fast that it scared the crap out of me. I forgot to let go of the rat pup because I was surprised at how fast she struck at it so she didn't get it. I was using tongs. I picked it up again with the tongs and dangled it in front of her. She struck again and coiled around the rat pup. I closed the lid and let her eat in peace. I knew what to expect the next feedings and they have gone smoother. knock on wood she eats very well.
