PAM does not kill the eggs, so it may take a week or so for the remaining eggs to hatch, then die. Once they do, though, they will not live long enough to reach maturity and reproduce. It doesn't work immediately, the mites' reproductive cycle must run its course, but PAM really does work and is the best product on the market for mite irradication. Did you wash everything before or after using PAM? You may have washed some of it off, so you may want to spray things down again (following the instructions, of course, removing the snakes and water dishes to another room until the fumes dissipate).
I was alarmed when I found mites days after using PAM when I had mite problems, but they were gone within the first week, and PAM lasts for 30 days (keep using it for a few months, though, just to be sure any hibernating mites don't come back).
