Please, people, make sure you are being careful when you do this kind of thing. It can give your snake a prolapse or tear internal tissues if you do it wrong. I know not everyone has the money to go to the vet's but you really should take a new snake in to a reliable, knowledgeable veterinarian if you are new to owning snakes. A good vet will make sure your snake is being fed properly, housed well and kept at good temps. They can also provide you with extra information and check their poop for worms. If you can afford it, it is well worth the money. be sure they see reptiles regularly and know their stuff! Ask any local reptile people if you need recommendations.
