    a bit of help needed

Hi! I got my first snake, my gorgeous ball python, Eve, aroung 6 months ago.

She's had 3 sheds, and eats well, but at around seven months old she's only around 200 grams. Is this normal? I've never had a snake, but shes one of the best pets i've ever had, very curious and active when im playing with her, and her temperatures are fine, but her humidity is low at 40, i try to get it up, but it usualy only stays at 40. Any help?

200 grams at 7 months sounds a lil low. what are u feeding her and how often?
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

I feed her medium thawed mice, every 11 days. She seems to not like rats, because she refuses to eat them.

Mine's about 6 months old, weighs 330 and eats adult mice once a week(usually)

She's currently not eating, but that's her usual size/frequency

Re: a bit of help needed

Ok, I'm relatively new to BPs myself, but I've had Ella for almost a year now and I've done tons and tons of research over the last 2 years and I have NEVER heard that (every shed add 2 days to the wait between feedings). Is that something for baby BPs? If so, I would imagine that by 6 or 7 months old it would be old enough to be on a regular once-a-week schedule. I feed Ella every 7 days and she is almost 2 years old and weighs about 1200 grams. She has never missed a meal (she's a piggy). Perhaps more experienced folks here can chime in on that?

Either way, your BP does sound a little on the small side, although he doesn't appear to be too thin from this photo. I would definitely feed him every 7 days at least. Maybe even every 6 for now til he gains a little more. And he should be eating a mouse that's about as big or slightly bigger than he is at his thickest point around. So med/lg adult mice would be best. Another gage is he should be getting about 15% of his body weight at each meal - so, for him, each mouse should be about 25-30 grams.

    Hope this helps!
