My first question was to ask what exactly your UTH is. If it's a heat pad/mat from the pet store I can almost guarantee that's the problem. Heat pads aren't all the same regardless if they are the same model and brand. They are inexpensive for a reason, they aren't accurate. Getting a new thermostat isn't going to help if the heat pad is off. I have two heat pads that are exactly the same, but one is about 10 degrees lower than the other and only a few months older than the other. I rarely use them so there is no reason for them to be acting up. I think I've used them each a total of a month in the three years I've had them.
Also, I know you don't want to hear this, but I wouldn't waste your money on the R-Zilla thermostat. That's what I started with when I only had 4 bps. I was using it for my flexwatt and a friend of mine told me that I should really be using a dimmer as a back up especially if I was going to use a cheap thermostat. Well wouldn't you know it, about two weeks later I check on the snakes and there's no heat. Look at the thermostat and it got hot enough that it melted!! Had I not had the dimmer I wouldn't be talking to you right now because my hobby would have been desecrated. That's my warning whether or not you want to hear it. At the very least, get a back up dimmer!
IMO, it's better to just use a dimmer than a cheap thermostat. When a thermostat fails it runs wide open, when a dimmer fails it cuts the power. It's not a huge deal with a heat mat, but with flexwatt it's the difference between life and death.
