Female with spurs?
My female lesser ball python has spurs kinda small. Does that mean its really a boy? i bought it online.

both sexes have spurs and they are not a truly accurate way to sex a ball python... popping and probing are the only two reliable ways to sex them.

Re: Female with spurs?
Not only males have spurs. Females have them too, but they are mostly useless. Like the first reply said, popping and probing are your most accurate shot at telling whether it's a male or female.

Spurs are most likely just built up shed.

... no, they are not built up shed, all ball pythons have them, they don't tell crap about the sex, there are just there.

Spurs aren't "built up shed"...however, they can appear larger due to old sheds building up around them.

I know that spurs arent built up shed..some look bigger cause of that but thats not what spurs are..I've heard that spurs are evolutionary remnants of what once were legs. Does anyone know if that's accurate?

Thats exactly what it is
When snakes lost thier legs long long ago they only really lost like, half of the leg. the spur is a leg that extends into the body. Its not just that little "bump" on the outside
I was watching a snake disection and they removed the spur and you could see that it really looked a lot like a leg bone
