brady does have quite a high pitch sream, but that did look like it hurt a little bit. I think i would have been pretty concerned about having an open wound in muddy bat guano water as well.

Re: Nat Geo.. a little dramatic?

I might have been scared for a number of different reasons (mainly being on TV )...but I really don't think I would have screamed like a little girl. I would have already had the mindset that It's pretty likely I'll get bitten.

I haven't ever been bitten by a retic, but I'm sure it isn't painful enough to scream and yell like that. If I heard the this commotion without seeing it I would have thought a giant cave rock fell on him and crushed his legs.

I would agree if you said that there are many herpitologist's in our hobby that would put him to shame but reptile keepers would NEVER go near a wild retic that big in a situation as bad as that.

Re: Nat Geo.. a little dramatic?

I found that although yes, a bite from a retic like that would be mad painful, he really was panicking and playing things up a lot.

Honestly, he was more panicked than the other guy with him with the whole "GET THE HEAD!" thing.

Those are some VERY bad lacerations. Not only are they long enough to certainly require stitches, but they are DEEP. I don't blame the guy, that's one of the worst snake bites I've ever seen, even if the snake wasn't a 20 footer.

well I agree he was quite dramatic......he always is!! However realistically....looking at that bite ...wow it was pretty deep and he was in really nasty water...which actually was the scariest part I think!!

Re: Nat Geo.. a little dramatic?

rofl jjmitchell - your totally right. steve irwin would've looked at brady, laughed a little and gone "aw mate you need a lesson or two in 'manning up 101!' " steve wouldnt have gone through all the "wheres the head? where's the head? got his tail? grab the tail." he would've dived right in and come up 10 seconds later going "i got his head!"
you just made me cry man, remembering steve-o. my daughter used to LOVE him! she got his movie for christmas when she was 3 and she screamed and jumped up & down all over the place. we used to watch his shows every day together on tv.
it really looks like brady was just really excited in the beginning up until he got bit. but yeah i think i'd squeal too if something grabbed me by the buttocks, lol. good thing the snake didnt get his hand though, would've shredded it with just seeing what it did to his booty.
    poor guy.
but ya know what? if your in that profession, danger is what you live for.
its what steve lived for and he said it in every single episode. it's what he should always be remembered for too.

Re: Nat Geo.. a little dramatic?

Not only did that bite probably really hurt.... did anybody not notice how close it was to his uhhhhh twig and giggle berries? He was probably thinking it might come around again and bite him there, hence the screaming of get it off me
