I use Flexwatt 24/7 and feed whenever I have time (I am consistent with how many days apart I feed, just not the exact time).

Re: What light do you prefer to use at night?
I heard and read that is isn't necessary for any lights for at night. I do not have one at the moment. I used to have a red light but then read that it was basically useless since they are nocturnal. If something does indeed do something let me know I want the best for my snake!

Re: What light do you prefer to use at night?
I use a lamp on all of my tank setups.
My corn gets a day night cycle with a normal light.
My red-tail gets red lamp 24-7 only because he gets too cold without it and doesn't go to the bottom of the cage, he climbs on his branches constantly and stays under the lamp.

I prefer not to use colored bulbs at night, as there is some debate as to whether or not snakes can see them. I currently use only flexwatt and other UTH's, althought I used to keep CHE's on at night.

On my racks I use no lights; just flexwatt 24/7. On my stack of boaphiles I use florescent lights on a timer.

Im bringing back a thread from the dead. haha
I use a red light 24/7 because my guy is in a 29G tank so its pretty tall and almost impossible for a UTH to keep ambient temps right. I have a UTH on one side and i put my light right in the middle. That gives me a 91 degree hot side and a 78-80 degree cool side. This setup does hurt my humidity but i mist 2 or 3 times daily and i have a wet wash cloths laying on the screen top on both sides.

I use deep blue LED's in a display cage. Night activity is the same as it was with a RED bulb if not a little better. A CHE is my heat source in a custom enclosure. I have to use cypress mulch though to keep humidity in check.
