    Both males would have clutches that were 50/50 (half morph half normal, theoretically).

    I would go for the pastel because of the potential in the future. Pastels are codominate so they have a super form-super pastel. Spiders are dominate and do not have a super form. Therefore, the pastel babies you got would be worth breeding to a pastel or a spider, the spider babies would only be worth breeding to pastels. So in the future you could get a female spider and work on bumblebees and super pastels (with your hold back pastel girls). Or you could get a male spider and work on bumblebees the long way-breeding the pastel females when they are old enough.
