This could be intresting...
Ira is supposed to get his stitches out on the 23rd and should have his last Baytril shot tomorrow. I went to get him out last night to give him his shot and was met with a lot of angry hissing! Turns out he is just starting to go blue, barely hazy but hazy. Oops! He will not be coming out tomorrow night (I'm not going to even try) and will probaby shed before his stitches come out. Ooops.
I guess I'll call the vet to see if he can shed with stitches or if they should come out early.

Re: This could be intresting...
The vet said shedding "should" be fine, he "shouldn't" rip the stitches out because they "should" be deep enough. I don't care what he says should or shouldn't happen...this whole thing has been an ordeal and if Ira can figure a way to screw it up at the last moment he will.
(and I do know how to spell interesting, I'm just all thumbs when it comes to typing on my phone!)

Re: This could be intresting...
Thought I'd update and hopefully close out this big ugly chapter of Ira's ordeal.
Just got back from the vet, the stitches are out and he looks great! A few big hisses directed at the vet but he is none the worse for the wear. He held out and didn't shed yet, looks like he will any second now though.
I'm just glad it's all over and everything turned out well...it's quite nerve-racking to have your snake have surgery, anesthesia and four weeks of injections! He, unlike me, was a trooper though it all though...he's a good little snake
