    Another BP off feed thread...

So my BP hasn't been eating lately. She used to eat every 5 days or so without fail. Now she hasn't eaten in over two weeks.

I know normally the rule is as long as she's not losing weight, I shouldn't worry. It's winter and all that. But she's down from a peak of 450g to 430g.

At what point should I start to be worried? That seems like a lot of weight to lose fast.

Don't worry two week's is nothing to worry about those 20 grams are a missing meal. Sometimes when they hit that 400 gram mark they'll kinda slow it down a little for a bit.

As long as your husbandry is on I wouldn't worry.

Is it possible that 450g was just after a meal and 430g was long after digesting/pooping? Not eating for two weeks in the winter is not a big deal if you can explain a rapid 20g loss (by way of feces), however if she continues to lose at that rate you have another issue on your hands (e.g., parasites).

My prediction is that she plateaus and doesn't lose much more and starts eating again in a few months

You are fine, 2 weeks is nothing. Even a few months is nothing uncommon. If you start to see a lot of lose skin then start to worry. And make sure you are comparing empty weights. Is the 450 an empty weight?

In the winter months i wouldnt be 2 concerned. My adult bp has not eatin in 2 months and still looks healthy. My baby bp is still a bottless pit. It just depends from snake to snake as each is a individual.
