    when I was having my humidity issues I was refereed to Cyprus mulch or coco fiber as they hold moisture the best and raise humidity because of that..

    to OP.. if you dont have a humidity issue I would let it dry some because it will stay damp a long time ( hence why it is recommended to those of us who have low humidity in our tanks) hope that helps a little
