Question Does not like been palpated

Has anyone ever had a female that flips out when you try to palpate her? When i attempt to check Bertha she flips out and flies into her tub.I have done this before on other females so i know how to do it properly .So has this ever happened to anyone? If so what did you to to keep track of her progress?

I've got a couple of girls like that. It's pretty much impossible to get a good full palpation on them, with those ones I pretty much just try to get an idea of follicle size and not worry about how many they may or may not have.

Sit her down and explain to her that it's a necessary evil of being female and is critical to ensure continued health...... er.... wait.....nevermind... ...I don't know anything about palpating for follicles.

I used to palpate females, but have recently stopped. I have had a few females that were impossible to palpate either due to aggression or the fact that they simply didn't want to be handled.

I stopped palpating because I watch tons of video's of larger more well know breeders all the time and well I noticed that they lay an abnormal amount of slugs. It could be due to the fact that they breed so many snakes and it's bound to happen. I just thought to myself, well maybe if they left the females alone and let nature take it's own course that maybe, just maybe they wouldn't have so many slugs laid. Since I stopped palpating I haven't had a single slug laid. I'm crossing my fingers for this season also.

I've found using the floor and a table leg works really well.
Allowing the female to grab the table leg and pull herself forward keeps her from tightening up her stomach muscles also.

I have one that does just what your saying and I'm able to palpate her this way.

Palpating has something to do with slugs

Well I definitely can't say for a fact that palpating a female has anything to do with whether or not you may have slugs. What I can say is that since I've stopped palpating I haven't had a single slug laid. It could just be random luck, but I probably won't palpate ever again.
