Re: Ever have one of those days where you just want to rip someone's face off?
My GTP can be very aggressive at night, but is very shy during the day. I can do whatever I want inside his cage in the day without any issues, but if I reached my hand in his cage at night, he / she would surely tag me.

(And are the insides of their throats always dark like that? It's like looking down a black hole. A black hole with big teeth.)
I had her out taking some pictures already. She's lightened up a lot over the past few years (in color, not attitude) and she wasn't liking the camera. That shot was completely unintentional, but it worked out anyway
And yes, the big, black hole with teeth is pretty typical

Yeah same here - normally she's great (I do school programs with her and my others pretty often) but she was just having an "off" day here. Because of my job(s) I normally don't get time to handle mine except for at night and they're usually OK once they're out of their tubs.

Hah awesome pic!
I had a close encounter myself super recently with my blood python. She missed my nose by about an inch. Sometimes the snakes that have a less than deserved bad rap for being mean will take a swing at you that might convince you otherwise for a moment

I've never worked with bloods, so correct me if I'm wrong here, but I would assume they're like most other snakes where you can kind of read their body language a little and tell when they're going to nail you, right?
That's one thing I absolutely love about working with snakes... and I tell people this all the time. There are no domesticated snakes out there. Corns and balls might be the closest thing we have, but they'll still get along just fine without us. With the chondros, I really like the fact that they keep you on your toes!

I only have the one blood right now, got her at Tinley back in Oct so she's still fairly new. I have the hardest time reading her body language out of all my snakes. If I'm holding her I can feel her tense up when she's unhappy, but otherwise it's much more tough to tell visually if she's happy sitting there immobile or tense and preparing to strike.
I still can't get over that pic you took, I keep this tab open and keep peeking for a quick laugh

Glad my close call could be of service to you!
Actually it wasn't that close... I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 and the most bizarre feature of this camera is the top-mounted screen. It swivels so you can use it like a normal camera and view it from the back, but in this instance I had it folded down and was shooting from my waist so her angry teeth never came anywhere near my face!
