Wait untl cocofiber is dry to change substrate?

I use cocofiber in one of my pvc tanks, i just got 2 bricks ready last nite. Its all nice and broken up but should i wait till it dries out some before i change it? Just wondering cuz i assume damp fiber will jack up the humidity alot!

I don't use Coco fiber, so the only thing I can suggest is to let it dry out before putting it in the PVC cage. I only say that because I don't know how wet it is or how thoroghly or how long it would take for it to dry out once you put it in there...

I use tanks and I don't wait for it to dry out before I put it in the cage. However, I will put a heat lamp over my cage to dry it faster, otherwise it takes 2-3 days to dry with only an under the tank heat source.

I love using coco fiber when i change the tank i just make sure i squeeze out the extra moisture before i put it in the tank. I also have heat lamps that help as well. you could also set up the coco fiber the night before and spread it out to dry a bit then change your substrate the next day.

when I was having my humidity issues I was refereed to Cyprus mulch or coco fiber as they hold moisture the best and raise humidity because of that..

to OP.. if you dont have a humidity issue I would let it dry some because it will stay damp a long time ( hence why it is recommended to those of us who have low humidity in our tanks) hope that helps a little

I changed it last nite. Was alittle drier but it only put the humidity to 75%, and I now realize this thread should have gone it the boa forum cuz it's for my DUM, but either way, it's about substrate.
