Plus, taking a snake to the vet is also stressful to me... or at least to my wallet... but if everyone had told me to do it, I woulda gone.

But she can wait a week or two. She never yacked up that first mouse, so I assume she's got a little fuel left in there to go on.

    Thanks, guys!

Yeah, vet visits are stressful for me too and I work at one! XD She just should be just fine fasting, though I bet she will do her best to convince you she needs food. It just means she'll eat really good when she's all recovered, ha ha!

    Good luck!

Yeah, she's already out and making a big show of it. Sorry, Enchilada! You gotta wait.

(Am I allowed to name my enchi Enchilada? Or is that just wrong?)

    Re: Regurge!

Enchilada is perfect for an Enchi! haha. I too just had my ball regurge. Two things happened. 1) I wanted to switch her feeding pattern from a Monday to a Saturday, so it had only been 5 days since her last meal (VERY amateur move ) and 2) it got REALLY hot today and I wasn't able to monitor the temps. So either a combo of the two or both was the case. Basically bad husbandry is what caused it. live and learn.

Yes now that you mention it, a very quick change in temps and especially if it goes from room temperature to above 90 degrees quickly, can cause a regurgitation.

I had a female Spider regurgitate on me a while back, i didn't realize how hot it got that day and while they were in quarantine, the temps in the room were higher than normal. I let her chill for about 17 days and fed her, no problems and she grew like a weed after that!

I'm betting it was more 2.) than 1.)! Generally when I try to feed them too soon, they "kill" the mouse, gnaw on it for a while, but don't actually swallow it. Or they simply refuse... But this is my very first regurgitation in two years of keeping ball pythons, and I've been playing pretty fast and loose with my feeding days the entire time. Usually it only results in leftover, slightly mauled mice that I have to bury under the rose bushes at the end of the night.

So I bet it was the temperatures bouncing around that caused the regurgitations in both cases.

(Wait, where are you that you have HOT temperatures? Everyone I know is under 3 feet of snow this week.)

haha I say "really" hot comparatively. I live in Southern California and it was almost 85 today! Insane! But the reason for the higher than normal temps is because my room is like an oven with horrible circulation (when the windows are closed of course)
