Right now there is a snake at a place I really want. A beautiful albino sonoran. I don't got the money right now so I will have to wait and hope nobody buys it. THing is if they do, it's no big deal. I will just wait until I find another awesome snake to find. There are millions of snakes around. If one gets sold, it aint hard to find another one that is jsut as good if not better.
You should be happy with the one you are going to get. It's a new snake, that's awesome. [/I] If it's not good enough just wait until you find another one that is as awesome as the one that got away.

Re: Kick In The Pants...
I know the immediacy of the disappointment can really sting. But this is a world of AMAZING animals and before you know it, another heart-stealing beauty will come along.
It's also a world big on disappointments. Dinker genetics don't pan out...snakes don't mate...eggs aren't fertile, or go bad...babies die just before they hatch....odds just don't play out and you miss the combo you wanted most....etc etc.
Try not to focus on the disappointments too strongly, or you may not ever be happy in the hobby. Focus instead on the anticipation of the future. If your "better half" is in agreement to let you have a snake...don't go back and choose one of THOSE snakes just so you can have one right now (unless there IS one left that you really like)....instead, take your time and enjoy the hunt for that other heart-stopper that is surely out there.

There have also been times I have bought "the most awesome snake" and then a month or so later I find some that is even more awesome that I wish I would have gotten instead.
And other times I have got a snake I wasn't ecstatic about, but then as I had it, I found out it's an incredible snake.
Just focus on the positive and everything will work out for you.

Out of 12 she picked the 1! (well there is 3 i liked but she was the list topper) she was super bright in herback stripe, her eyes were blue grey and she had 2 highlighter yellow spots on her nose. Now that she is gone ive told my lady that i will buy both of the babies this morning and im hoping that when he comes home tonight its not changed.
But I lost her the ringer of the group of 12, a co worker mentioned the dots on the nose to a breeder and he said it could have some amazing "normal" genes in it or it could have its own set and make a new base morph. I feel like i got hit in the knees with a bat but i was told to get used to it because in the snake world if your not fast you loose what you want.
So she better not complain tonight lol
Sounds like she had dots like these, that many of us call Booger noses? Not genetic, btw.

Sounds to me like that breeder doesn't know what they are talking about.
Amazing normal genes ? New base morph ?
Do you have any idea how many times per day we get people coming here wanting to know what amazing new morph they have because it just can't be a normal, right ?
Sweetie, 99.9% of all the normals you or I will ever see are just that, normals. I've seen normals run the gamut from dark chocolate brown with orange markings all the way to pale beige with sand colored markings, they are all still normals.
The odds of any pet stores getting any morph besides normal are pretty small, the odds of one getting a new base morph ? Astronomical to say the least. I'd say you have a better chance at winning 4 different lottery jackpots using the same numbers all in the same day.
Don't get to upset over losing this one. Goodness knows I've been there. Had my eye on a honey of a male BP at my local reptile shop. Came here to do some research first, he got snagged right out from under me by another member here. But you know what?
Because I didn't get him, I had the funds to invest in a stunning breeder size female from a well known breeder at the next show, who is 5 times prettier than that male will ever be. And best of all ? With her, I've got anywhere from 4 to 10 chances at getting something unusual in a season, instead of just one like with the male.

Hey the spots were much larger then in the pictures given but yellow was the same. I know that there are more snakes out there lol that would like saying there is no other fish in the sea. But the breeder in question about the genes said that her babies would be better looking normals then the normals we have in right now.
Also there is a female pastel at the store we just got ride of a bumblebee and im not to sure but i think a guy dropped of a mojave last night.

as far as normals go isnt it all chance what they look like. from what i've heard it doesnt matter if two normals are very light, the babies could still be very dark or just weird (which is a good thing)

All truths pass through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
