Would you recommend this set up for a ball python snake?

Would you recommend this set up for a ball python snake?

    UTH 30-40 gallon size
Reptisun 5.0 (I know that snakes don’t need UVB, but I need lighting to regulate day/night)
Also I’m searching for a good thermostat for my snake. I’m unsure which one I should buy? Once when I get the thermostat do I only hook it up to my UTH, or do I also got to hook it up to my lighting? I'm only using it for one enclosure.

um from what i know about balls they reaaallly do not need light. they r nocturnal and from what i understand light will only stress them out.
i'm using the repti-temp 500r thermostat to control my U.T.H.
the U.T.H you need should cover 1/3 - no more then 1/2 of one side of the bottom of your cage.

    my current collection
    1.2 kiddos
    1.0 better half
    0.1 mojave ball python (Nyx)
    0.1 Dumerils Boa (Hemera)
    1.0 Eastern Box turtle
3.4.? rats (? = litter coming any day now)
    0.1 dutch rabbit (Lucy)

    my "future hopefuls"
0.0.1 pied cockatiel 0.0.1 white bellied caique 0.0.2 guinea pigs

    Sort of.....

40 gallon LONG tank (though a 20 will also work) maybe, depending on age/size of snake, as long as the lid was plexiglass fitted to the lid and air holes were drilled in to help keep humidity like a tub (proper). This lid is obviously removable so you can have "play time" with your snake.

Repti temp 500R is 30 bucks and works great for a 1 snake set up. It is plugged into the UTH. Lamp can be on a dimmer (if lamp is needed to keep temps up)

If room is cool cork board 3 sides of the tank and then cover the cork with thin cheap wood to keep heat in. Oh and make sure lid is solid color (paint with no toxic paint if you wish or cork board) And if more heat is needed flexwatt wrapped around the tank (with another thermostat) would work or a heat lamp on a dimmer (not directly on plastic, due to melting) with also help to keep ambient temps up.

After that just need 2+ hides, water bowl big enough to soak and bedding (aspen, newspaper, paper towels or reptibark)

As for the bulb..........natural window light is fine. Still hasn't been proven if balls need the light. BUT it would be best to have some day/night cycle. Like I said the light that comes thru the window is good.

I would like to add the plexiglass lid is custom to replace the crappy screen lid that comes with the tank. CL is GREAT to find used tanks for cheap.
