New to Bloods/Shortails i have Questions that need answers ASAP???

I just purchased a juvenile Borneo Short Tail about 10inches long and Ive never held a blood/short tail before so Q#1 - Is there skin supposed to be so easy to wrinkle up? or does that mean shes a bit skinny? Q#2 - I don't know if it's curiosity and her checking around but she seems to like to bend her head backwards/upside down a lot, and im paranoid about IBD.

Yes, definitely post a pic. In the mean time, try not to be too paranoid about IBD, many neurological problems share symptoms with IBD. Where did you purchase from?

I purchased her at Ben Siegel's, she's in a 12.7q tub with newspaper substrate, and a hide with a damp cloth in it on my quarantine rack that has back heat. Will post a picture in a bit.

Id say the behavior is somewhat normal, Ive seen my babies do it from time to time.

I would however recommend a smaller tub for that animal and to ditch the hide.

Just use a few layers of newspaper for them to hide under. This mimicks their natural behavior in the wild to hide under leaf litter.

Just make sure temps and humidity are good

I would also ditch the damp cloth. In my experience an open water dish will maintain adequate humidity in tubs that size. Continue to keep an eye on everything to be sure, but I'm guessing that the humidity will be okay. Also, from what I've heard and experienced, Ben has a fairly good reputation as far as wholesalers go. His animals may be farm bred but they're usually established and in good health.

What size tub? And the humidity and temp are spot on. Also since i gave her humidity that wasn't provided at the store i bought her from, her wrinkles have disappeared and she seems like a more rounded snake now. The wrinkles were horizontal with the body not vertical, i think that means dehydration, if im not mistaken. And as for the head movements i think there normal, i was paying a bit more attention to her today as i held her for a minute and when she brought her head back it was to turn around and get around to another spot on my hand. She just has an odd way of doing it, instead of just turning around.
