I've looked into Va Beach and dollar for dollar, Gloucester is the best deal. Many more whales, even more than Alaska. The wife and I looked into Alaska and they say you can see 6 or more whales, but they are happy if they see 2 each day.
We went 3 times last Summer and each time we saw anywhere from 6 to 25 whales each day. Seven Seas Whale Watching is my choice and I would HIGHLY recommend them.
But if you can't make Gloucester, find a place where you can see them. They are an outstanding sight to see.

Wow those are amazing pics...when I was in HI we went whale watching and it was so cool....but I did not get pics like that!!! I did have an amazing experience though....Tristen was about 1 1/2 years old when we went and I was holding him so that he could see the whales. A mama whale and her baby swam over to the boat and it seemed like she was lifting up her baby right next to the boat ....kind of like you show me yours I will show you mine. It was super super amazing experience.
We also went shark diving a different time in HI and that was really fun.....I DID get great pictures that time. Trying to talk my hubby into doing a great white dive near the Galapagos Islands....so far he isn't going for it.
BG....stop poking that is rude!!

Sounds like you had a really great time too. We're probably going to Hawaii this Spring/early Summer. Maybe a shark dive is in my future!
Thanks!

Re: Some of my Dolphin and Whale Pictures - 10 Pictures - DUW
great shots I suck at pics taking. I know in Delaware during the summer early mornign there a pos of dophins that dwim up and down just off the beachs I seen them many a time when I helped my grandmother at a hotel she worked at on sundays( to save her and the other ladies from making trips up and down stairs all day.) I get ot watch them swim about 200 ft off the beach or so. I just wish I had a real camera instead of the elcheapo point and shoot ones like I got they great fro some things but others they suck specially when you don't have any skills lol
