Not a dumb ? in the least!! -- being that it is a gene that I have been working with exclusively the last 3 years.

Below is an recent explanation from another forum thread. There are some photos of Cajuns/Cajun combos in my gallery. I am excited to say that ALL the Cajun combos made thus far get better with age!! I will do an updated Cajun post with more recent photos ASAP.

The Cajun gene proved dominant in 08 from a captive hatched female. I proved it codom this year by breeding that founding female back to her Cajun Butter son. The clutch of 8 eggs yielded 3.0 Super Cajuns, 2.2 Super Cajun Butters, and 1.0 Cajun Butter.

The gene is unrelated to any proven existing gene. It is both a pattern AND color morph that acts, so far, as a hypo gene that brightens other genes. It also created extreme striping and horizontal banding in the Cajun Lithium (Cajun Cinnamon Butter).

The Super form is a DARK, with an EXTREME black back and carries a black wash with can be seen more clearly on the Super Cajun Butter. This black wash is similar to what we see in many granites. I plan to do some further mixing this coming year to further see how it reacts. I have not released any of the Cajun project to date.
