Creative Idea about invasive burms
I could be completely wrong about this, im just going by things ive heard but here it goes..
Ive heard that Burmese pythons are almost endangered in there natural habitats. Instead of killing all the invasive burms here in america, why not ship them back to there natural habitats and let them thrive? Theyre already wild and obviously capable of fending for themselves so why not send them back to there home and let them do there thing as nature intended there? Not only do i think it would be a better alternative than killing them it would also introduce some new blood back into there home enviorment and help get there numbers back up.
Just an idea, any opinions?

Re: Creative Idea about invasive burms
Hi,
The main problem I could see with it is the risk of introducing a disease into an endangered population.

Re: Creative Idea about invasive burms
what u suggest sounds good, and would be a NICE thing to do.. but we as a reptile community are to busy fighting for our rights to keep these snakes.. yet alone convince the goverment to pay to ship them back to where they came from. and i doubt the private sector would be able to pay for that, thats a pretty penny.
i also havent heard there endagered? because they havent been imported in years as far as i know simply because of the number of cbb in the industry

The problem would be of disease. The second problem would be this whole thing was blown so far out of the water. They cant really find any burms any more. There were never as many as they said they were. They needed the big numbers for the media so they could play off the fear to get everyone worked up that they were in danger of huge pythons slithering there way into there back yards. I know a few people that went down to the glades to hunt for them and talked to some folks that have lived there all there live and only seen 1 or 2 burmese pythons. Plus florida has had some cold fronts lately mitch from diamond reptiles posted on his facebook that it was 62. Go turn your burms cage down to 62 and watch what happens in only a few short days. They also try to say burms dont have natural predators in florida. Thats a straight up lie. There are plenty of things that can and will eat burms babies to adults.
