    Size to Food chart?

I posted a thread last week about my male eating his fuzzies butt first. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get him weighed since then, things have been pretty crazy here! So today I decided to feed him 2 fuzzies. He attacked behind the head, which from what I understand is normal behavior so the snake can prevent bites, but then intentionally swallowed butt first. He did this for both fuzzies. As soon as the first was down I plopped the second in expecting to wait a few minutes while he investigated but he went straight in the same way as before. So, my question is, once I do get him weighed is there a general rule to follow as far as how much to feed? If he ways so many grams do I feed him so many mice? Thanks for the help!

Weight of Snake x 15-20% = Weight of Prey Item

Also try to switch to rats as soon as you can do to the fact that you will need up to 3-4 mice just to satisfy an adult. Also it is thought to be better for the snake to eat 1 meal vs many due to the fact of how much energy goes into eating but I am unsure about that statement.

    Re: Size to Food chart?

Don't take my word for this because I am a newbie myself but I weighed my snake at 122 grams so I been trying to find food that weights about 12 grams I had heard 10 -15% of body weight and that may be light but it has been working for me. Since my snake is still small I have been feeding every 5 days.

After weighing a few mice you get pretty good at judging the size of them.

Here’s what I feed (in chart form)
New born to 120g = rat fuzzies (very small newborns rat pinks)
    120g- 150g = rat crawlers
    150g – 250g = rat hoppers
    250g – 500 = weaned rats
    500g- 1500 g= small rat
    1500g + = medium rat
I don’t ever feed more than a medium rat. I also feed every 7 days.
This is just what I do, I tend to grow mutants. My 09’s are both over 1800g
    Currently have
    2.3 pastel's
    0.1 spider
    0.1 normal
    1.1 100% het albino's
1.0 Albino ( he will live at work but i get to take care of him)
    1.0 Cinnamon
    1.0 Fire

Thanks for the replies! I'll get my guy weighed ASAP and see about getting him on rats.
