Re: I have a pipper!
I think 10 to 15 eggs is usually the normal? I could be wrong, but that is what I have read. I was told by my breeder friend that 24 eggs is a rather huge clutch and the 100% hatch rate was amazing. All 24 are still doing well. Thanks for the compliments.

Great peek into the moments during hatching. Must be a joy to witness in person.

Congrats on the clutches!! I guess I missed this thread back in September.
And I'd say that 10-20 eggs is "normal" for a clutch size. My average is probably ~18 eggs.

Amazingly enough, only 2 of them were "little Cobras" after hatching. One of the Amels was a downright terror for the first week. It was adorable. They've all settled down nicely now and are doing great. Many have already found their new homes.

They can strike, but it's just a big show. If they ever do latch on it feels like velcro against your skin...just sticky...not painful. It's ever so funny when they try to act all tough, but with continued gentle handling, they calm down quickly.

It was wonderful. But it was also exhausting, exhilarating, mind-numbing and a bit humbling. I loved every minute.

Thanks BAH. Sometimes I think 18 eggs would have been lovely.....getting some of these 24 to eat has been a chore and a half.
