    The Hot Spot

Is the hot spot the same thing as the basking area? And is the basking area the same as just the hot side of the enclosure? Thanks everyone!

i think we answered this is ur other thread already. basking spot is more for like lizards and stuff who can "bask" in the UV rays. hot spot is where a snake can lay and hide to keep warm and digest.
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

What mpkeelee said. Basking spot generally refers to an area in which the reptile can bask in light or UV rays. Hot spot refers to a spot that is hot

Ball pythons do not "bask" they absorb the heat through their bellies.

    Re: The Hot Spot

I'm just asking because in this forum people have referred to the temp needed for the BP's basking spot and have not given a clear enough definition of what a basking spot is. From the responses I've received on this post, a basking spot is not even necessary for a BP... I just wanted some clarification so that my normal could live under the most satisfactory conditions... Thank you for your help!
