    Tail Wagging during Feeding

I was feeding all the snakes tonight and I had already fed Juji, my pinstripe female a mouse and was offering her a 2nd when she began wagging her tail at me. This wasn't just a sort of swipe to the side. It was an obvious wag back and forth. Almost like a dog.

Is it just that she wants the mouse, wants me to leave her alone, or is it something else?

    Re: Tail Wagging during Feeding

Here's a video of an angolan python doing the tail-wag during her hunt...

No idea what it indicates...if anything. But it seems cool to witness!

In the video? No, that was an Angolan Python. They look kind of similar, but it is an entirely different species.

Ok, I thought that was a rather large BP and I don't know the morphs well so I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Nibbles vibrates her tail like a rattler when she is mad (just when I am around)

I laugh because all I can imagine is the tv commercial, I think its for car insurance, that has the rattle snake with the baby rattle tied to its tail LOL

    That angolan is my baby

I don't think she is trying to entice the rat with that movement. Its not a "luring" type of motion, its actually quite deliberate and almost violent. It reminds me most of what cats do when they hunt, their tail swishing back and forth !

I think its the excitement ? Perhaps meant to "distract" the rat from the head of the snake ? LOL

I dunno, but its funny to watch
