    New guy questions.

    Hello fellow snake enthusiasts,

I am new to the forums and new to the snake owner aspect. I have grown up around friends with snakes my whole life but my grandmother is afraid of them so was never allowed to own one. I have taken care of older BP's for extended periods of times for friends but never had my own. Well a few weeks ago I picked up my own pastel female. I love her, but now I want more. I would like to snag another female to raise up so eventually I can move into some hobby breeding. What would be a good morph on the cheaper side that I can pick up a male in the future that would go with both pastel and the new girl? Thanks for your input!
    -Nick

P.S. Whats the easiest way to get a picture on here?

    Re: New guy questions.

Congrats on the new snake, and welcome to the addiction!

If you're looking to just breed for fun, I'd go with any co-dom or dominant morph, because they're easier to produce visuals. That way you can see if you want to continue with some recessives that are longer-term projects or not.

And to get pictures on here, you can create a photobucket or other picture hosting website for free, and put the pics you want up there, then copy/paste the IMG code onto a thread or post.

you could always go pinstripe, mojo, pastel, it all depends on what you like and what you want to produce.

Best way to get a picture on here that I know of is to host it on photobucket or some other image hosting site and pasting the [img][/img] link in here.

Check out this genetics calculator http://www.snake-zone.com/genetics/wizard/ . You could go a couple of ways with this... to keep costs low, you could get just a simple normal to give you about a 50/50 split of normal and pastel offspring. You could also get another dominant/codominant morph which would cost you more but you would get a wider variety of offspring.

Spider or Pinstripe males are my two picks for you. Can get some great combinations with both!

Spider! My favorite. Then you can get one of these:

    ----------------------------------
BP owner since Oct 2008, so yeah, I'm no expert.
    0.1.0 pastel bp
    1.0.0 spider bp
    0.1.0 albino bp
    1.0.0 bumblebee bp
    1.0.0 yellowbelly bp
    0.0.1 normal bp
    1.0.0 normal western hognose

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I would get a spider, pinstripe, cinny or butter! Depends what you like because you got to look at it everyday! A nice pastel male will go with these and your female!

    Re: New guy questions.

Thanks for the responses. I think I am going to look for a pinstripe female then maybe a spider male late next year or so. I love the look of the spinners and bumble bees.

    Here is my baby girl!
