Platinums, Ivories, and Ultra Ivories

I was browsing around kingsnake and noticed the oddness of the Platinum gene. So I checked it out on Nerd, but they didn't seem to have the answer. What they said was
Pp=Platinum
PP=Ivory
But some how PPxPP=Ultra Ivory

Obviously genetically all you could get would be an Ivory, in a perfect world.

They said the first one(ultra ivory) they produced was from a PPxPp. The only thing I could think of would be multiple alleles controlling these traits, and the ultra ivory morph being a result a recessive gene. So there first one would have been more like PPUuxPpUu. Resulting in, as so theorized, a PPUU, or a Ultra Ivory.

I know I'm probably way off, but I thought is throw that out there.

Well you also have to factor in the Black eyed leucy gene.

Platty x platty would give you ivorys and plattys, ivory x platty would give you ivorys, ultra ivorys and plattys and then ivory x ivory is how you make the black eyed. It is a strange gene, as it is almost like a hidden ressive when you get the ivorys. When you hit the "ressive" youll get the BEL and if not, then you get the super form of the codom.

I didn't even consider the BEL. Possibly it is PPUU=BEL and PpUU is ultra ivory. Which makes me curious what a ppUU would look like. The whole situation is very confusing. I'm calling shenanigans on NERD and saying they did some genetic engineering. X)

I understand that. What I'm saying is that no where else do you see a new morph when two homozygous snakes are bred together, recessive or dominant. It'd be like breeding an albino to an albino and getting a super albino. I can't believe there isn't another gene at work here.

Albino and genetic "platinum" is similar... have a gen "polimorfic", means you can change the way to express yourself in the snakes

for example 3 variations of albino clark, white, lav, purple...

Yeah, I don't know about that. It's not really the same circumstance. It'd be like have tigers, super tigers, ultra tigers, and mega tigers. There would have to be another gene.
