Lucky guy!
So I have a question for you breeders out there with many females and less males. I hear 3 days on and 3 days off all the time. that works well with 1 female to 1 male. How do you do it with 2 females and 1 male. with the 3 and 3 the male would swap back and forth between females and never get a break or a chance to eat.
All 3 are still on feed and 1 female has already locked with him but the other is 1150 grams and might not get big enough to lock. I don't want to miss the chances on the one he has started to lock on and I don't want him to not bread with the girl that might or might not be ready later in the season.
Any advice?

Re: Lucky guy!
No the males need a break....I do a male with one female this week, then next week he sees someone else...... They have to have a chance to eat and digest.....

Each of my males see's 4 females a week Monday through Thursday, everyone get's fed Fridays and they rest Friday Saturday and Sunday and go back in Sunday night .. if he locks he locks if not he move's on the next day.. We'll see if it proves my odds any so far my males seem to be working better sooner in the breeding season.. out of the 30 females I've paired so far 18 of them have locked at least twice and at least 25 have locked once in the last three weeks.

For two females here's what I'd do..
Monday: Pair with girl #1 (look for locks) if not locked up see Tuesday
Tuesday: Pair with Girl #2 (look for lock) if not locked up see Wednesday
Wednesday: if not locked up separate and let them rest and feed.. Start again Monday..

I'm breeding 2 females this season and I am leaving him with one girl for 2-3 days, then giving him 3 days off, then back in with the second girl for 2-3 days. I only mention this because the primary male (Pastel het Ghost) I am using seems to only lock up on the second day. My mojave on the other hand is a stud and locks almost instantly! If i only left him in for 1 day...I would not have seen a lock from him yet this season.
This is only my first season, so this is what seems to be working for me.

My guy never seems to lock on first day either.. so the 2-3 day each thing looks good. I have them on a 5 day eating schedule lately to fatten up and get some energy for this season. Specialy since I want my guy to work 2 ladies this year and the second girl is SOOO close to being ready..
Does it do any good at all to leave th guy in there AFTER they broke up the lock? say he hooked up on first day and stopped 2nd.. any reason to leave him in there a 3rd?
