JLC, one of my aunts used to weigh well over 300 pounds, and she is only 5'3 or so.
She didn't go on the Biggest Loser or any other show, she didn't get a personal trainer, nothing--she started monitoring her diet.
Granted, she used the Atkins diet, and perhaps amped it up a little too much.And she used it long term instead of short term (which is why she is now anorexic).
But the point is, she lost all the weight. She is now about 100 pounds.
She still monitors her diet, too much even, and now she really needs to stop because the weight IS gone.
But she did it. By herself, she lost it.

Like I said in the sticky note in this forum, I have an addiction to Pepsi. You have to work really hard to keep cravings out of your mind, and learn to ignore them when they get there.
