You can buy the RUB from Staples for under $25 depending on size, hot glue the "V" things (can be plastic or wood or whatever) to hold a pvc pipe or similar. Add a water bowl and you're good to go. You can punch holes if you need more ventilation (there's a small gap on the lid so you can use it without the holes).

If you want the "display" look the like one on the link, then you can punch out a section of one long side and hot glue plexiglass onto it (or you can screw it in if you want to be able to remove it later) - you can find really cheap versions of the plexiglass at lowe's/home depot.

Sorry to hear about the wife. I was like her before (but my husband didn't own snakes before we got married, so I think your wife was silly to ask you to get rid of them... if she can't stand snakes, she shouldn't have married you knowing you're a snake kinda guy!), but now I'm cool with them. I even handle them now!
