You also need to be worried about the snakes.
Ferrets are/can be predators. Some people have no problems with their ferrets being aggressive toward other species, but I also know people who have had ferrets get out and kill guinea pigs, chinchillas, snakes, rats, birds, etc.
Just personally, I'd have the ferrets in a completely separate part of the house for that reason.
