    for a desert clown you would most def want a male, not a female

    the females take a good bit longer to reach breeding size than your average ball python.

    if you got a male you could breed to a female clown, take one of her desert het clown sons back to her/another clown and possibly have desert clowns within 3ish years

    if you got a female you'd have to wait at least 3 years before you could put a male clown to her then have to wait another 3 years to breed a female desert het from that clutch back to the father/another clown

    not to mention if you had a male desert you can plug him into all kinds of other morphs along the way
