    1 problem

Ok, i spent a ton on getting this tank and My boy and i am getting wife aggro, my only problem i ran into was the UTH, I couldnt afford a UTH from the store, so i used a human one with a thermostat, problem is it shuts off after two hours, im worried that over night the temp will drop when the heater goes off, Should i just go with the Heat lamps instead?? I could cut a hole in top of tank and use soomthing to block the hole and just heat it that way????

I'd say ditch the human heat things and get a heat lamp or ceramic heat emitter, and make sure that you mist because they will absolutely kill your humidity, and then save and get a UTH as soon as possible, because they're much better for your snake (ball pythons and many other snakes use belly heat to digest, so it's best if the floor is warm).

As always with heat lamps and heat emitters, make sure your snake cannot get close to the heat source, and make sure that you control it with a thermostat that has a probe.

I looked at hardware stores for a thermostat, and they don't have any with probes, and all the pet stores in my area only sell ZooMed rheostats, which aren't that reliable.

Your best bet is to splurge and get a good quality one online, like a Herpstat from spyderrobotics.com. You can hook more than one heating device to it, and they have probes.

You'll have to order a themostat online from a place like http://www.reptilebasics.com or http://www.bigappleherp.com.

You can get a lamp dimmer at Home Depot, but it will take some dialing in to get the temps right and you'll need to adjust as the temp in your home adjusts.

You can get a rheostat at a pet store - that basically performs the same as a light dimmer.

I am going to sound like the bad guy here but if you can't afford the things to properly keep the snake why even bother getting the snake at all?
The snake doesn't need a heat lamp or human heat pad it needs a UTH like zoomed, exo terra or any from reptile basics.

    Unhappy Re: 1 problem

Wasn't having an issue with price on my end, I got super wife aggro, and will buy one asap, and i am not trying to sound mad but... at least i am on here asking questions so he is safe, not just a buyer from petco who listens to the 16 year old tell them the wrong things and going home and snake dying, I do have temps correct and i do have heat lamps and other equipment, just couldnt get the UTH right away.

You can actually get a great quality UTH from Reptile Basics for a very good price. Much cheaper than a pet store.
