Acclimatization

Who hates Acclimatization? I do...I can't wait untill its ovvvveeerrr for my new bp. Any tips anyone wants to add to pass the time?

Have more than one snake. Larger the collection ggrows the less you think about the new arrivals.

Well I haven't thought of it that way. I plan on growing my collection. It's became an addiction already.

I personally think the whole Acclimatization is a bit "overrated", If you wanna mess around with your snake I don't see a problem with it. I got my first BP when I was in the 3rd grade and I deff. didn't let him acclimate as i assume not many 3rd graders would. Anyways the BP eat fine is one of the best snakes I have ever had, so really just read your BP, if hes pretty chill snake I think you can do whatever you want with him.

P.S. This is just my personal experiences with all the snakes that I have had, I am not a professional its just a hobby for me, but just thought I would share my experiences with my BP's

Its not overrated. When you start messing with a new snake that just came in contact to a new surrounding, it can be very stressful and cause feeding delays.

Leaving them alone just to be sure everything goes well and ensures feeding with new arrivals is a good practice.

I'm just saying I have had snakes that I let acclimate, and snakes that I haven't and there was no difference what so ever in the turn out. I might have just been lucky a bunch of times, and it is deff. always better to be safe then sorry, that is just my experiences.

I agree I was 19 when I got my first snake and was sad to say far to impatient for acclimation and my guy is a garbage disposal never missed a meal even in shed, and one of the calmest snakes iv ever been around

I'll add this to the conversation then. When I received him...a buddy of mine at local pet shop wanted to see him, so I brought him up there. While he was looking at him, I commented he felt a little thin. Now, he doesn't look thin, he just feels it, and he still feels like he has good muscle tone. So anyway, my buddy said the same thing. So he suggested to try and feed him, I doubted he would feed after the stress of shipping, but he ate anyway! After that I decided to look at the feeding schedule and it had been 2 weeks since he last ate (because he was in the blue). I wouldn't imagine he was too stressed out then, unless since he's a juvenile and after 2 weeks without eating it caused a big feeding reaction?

Ya man, if hes already eating like a champ, I personally wouldn't worry about the snake acclimating anymore.

I was holding mine the day I brought her home, within minutes actually.

Never had even a bit of hesitation when it comes to eating.
