Flukers and Reptile Magazine Ad gone stupid
Any thoughts on this ad?
Am I being too touchy being a cancer survivor and an ex smoker?
Isn't this magazine read by lots of kids, and is this what Reptiles magazine and Flukers employees deem acceptable for their children to read?
I know I always think of cancer sticks when I think of the finer things in life

Heh, that's a pretty old ad. I think that was the closest thing to a cigar they could have easily put in the cham's mouth without too much photoshopping. I don't think it's too big a deal, but I was never one to take ads too seriously.

As a non smoker who hates being around cigarettes, I'd say you're being a little too touchy, but that's just me. I find those posed-chameleon ads hilarious.

Yeah I find it sad that we still glamorize something that kills millions of people a year, even more sad that it's read by 10's of thousands of kids.

As a smoker I do not find even placing tobacco products anywhere children can see them I don't even smoke around anyone else if im out and about ill walk far away from people so I don't offend anyone especially if there are children around

Maybe im old school but I belive its a parents role to show a child right from wrong and not have to rely on a magazine.
My kids love reading the magazing but also has the comon sence to know that smoking and drinking isnt good for you. I knew from the begining it was MY job to instill that in my children because I knew what they would be tempted with out there.

A teachable moment I guess, how confusing for a child though.
I spend time teaching my kids that smoking and drinking isn't glamorous just to have a magazine ad like this show them I might be wrong, how nice of them.
