New BP used to eating freshly killed, I have FT ughh

I just got my first ballpython from a local chicago guy who has a bunch and breeds them! Well he works at a mom and pop reptile store so hes supply of live mice were plentiful, and he said he would kill the mouse then the bp would take it right away. Welll I have a bunch of frozen mice from my old cornsnake I gave him in the trade, that are the size that he should be eating. The guy said just to heat it up a bit and make sure its dry and it should take it no problem. Now its only been 3 days since I got him but he said he should eat no problem on saturday! Any ideas why he hasnt even seemed interested at all in the mouse when I present it? Just stressed? or can he tell its not what hes used to

    thanks again

It's always recommended to give the snake about a week to acclimate to his new surroundings. During this time period, just leave them be and don't handle them. Once they're comfortable they should take the food.

Given he used to eat fresh killed the transition should be a little easier, properly warming up the prey with a hair dryer will be essential and dangling it might be necessary.

Leaving a newly acquired BP alone for the first 7 days is HIGHLY recommended, that mean no handling until you offer food.

Now the lack of interest can have several causes the prey itself, stress etc

Can you give use some details about your new animal?

His size, the enclosure's size, temps, humidity, hides, how many times you have been handling it etc?

hes 280 grams, heat of substrate on warm side is 92. He has identical hide on cool side where its around 84. I have him in a 20glL humidity is 55/60 with tin foil on top! Ive only handled once since hes been here for 3 days. Hes mostly been in warm side hid but last night he did come out and go to the cool side for about an hour which was kinda neat to see.

Yeah i would second i wouldn't hold him for an ADDITIONAL 7 days since you held him. You have no idea how stressfull it is to be moved for a ball python. Once they get moved to a new location, something keeps picking them up and they can't control it. If you let them hang out for a bit, i personally do 2 weeks, then when you do to go hold them, they will be more comfortable going out and continuing to eat.

Most people who have problems with ball pythons not eating didn't listen to the week of no handling rule.
