BP housing question... feedback wanted

My BP Brutis is just over a yr old. He is about 2 1/2ft and very beefy (not sure current weight). He is outgrowing his current 10gal tank and I have been trying to decide what size of tank to get him. Over the past few months I think he has become more confortable with his home and he has become more active. He seems to like to move around and I know he needs the space. I cant decide between 2 tank sizes and want others opinions.

36X18X17

I plan on putting a few things in the tank to fill up some of the space. I am leaning towards the bigger longer one because this will be his home for the rest of his life.

Umm i wouldn't go with either of those enclosure, simply too large. Something more like 24 inches wide, 24 inches deep and a foot high would be plenty. Remember these are terrestrial snakes so the height isn't going to help any. Honestly it's just going to be harder to maintain temperature and humidity in a larger enclosure, so i would stick with a smaller vision cage or a ABS/PVC cage made by Reptiel Basics or Repti-Racks.

If you want to stay with a glass tank, I would say move him up to a 20 gal Long. That should last him for another year or so. Going too big, too fast may cause alot of stress and feeding refusals, but it's up to you...
