Weight gain.....

On october 11 she weighed 127 grams, today she weighs 208. Is this a decent gain? She has been eating rat pups for the past 3 feedings.

That is a very nice weight gain. Just be careful not to over due it when trying for weight gain, obese BP's are bad breeders.

However 1 rat pup every 5-7 days when they are that young will not over it, sounds like your BP has a nice healthy appetite.

Also makes a big difference if both those weights are empty or with food still in them. Some snake poops can weigh 30-40 grams or more, so if they are empty, that is fast weight gain. How often do you feed and what size is the prey?

I feed her every 5 days and she has eaten 3 rat pups so far.

Well before I put her on rat pups, she was on adult mice, they wer too small. Just stating what she has been eating lately.

Rat pups have to be around 30 grams each right? I would think that at a young age they retain majority of what they eat

I never weighed a pup yet. But the other day I picked up a new scale that I can now use!

I think this is at least somewhat true--I have two 2010 babies in the house, and they eat every 6 days and poo about once a month. If that! I use newsprint for bedding, and I usually wait until there's at least one poop before I change it out--and with these hatchlings, I swear I wait two or three times as long between poops. AND THEY'RE HUNGRY ALL THE TIME. So I don't think they're constipated/

I can't remember if I went through this last year with the 2009s, because I don't record bowel movements.
