    First Clutch of 2010... Finally!

So after many months of waiting for any female to drop eggs this year, one of my female pastels finally gave me 5 healthy eggs today. It's a small clutch, but she's still fairly small herself (was at 1175g after laying) and this is only her 2nd year breeding. She was paired with my bumblebee male.

Now I bombed on the 4 eggs this pairing gave me last year, with 2 pastels, 1 spider, and 1 normal (the low-end half on odds), so I'm hoping it's made up to me this year with a couple killerbees, super pastels and a bumblebee in the clutch. I don't think that's too much to ask!

Anyway, here are pictures of the mom on eggs, and the eggs in their incubation box!

Please excuse the ad on the newspaper above, I would have removed that had I noticed it when I was taking pictures.

    Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! I'll definitely be posting updates when these guys start pipping around the end of October. I have another clutch from my bumblebee to a het ghost girl (the bee's father was a 50% possible chance het) due in a week or so. I'll post pics when she lays hers as well.

First one slithered out of the egg today. A pretty little lemon pastel that looks to be a male. In the rest of the eggs, there is nothing that isn't at least pastel, and looks like I may have got one super. There's only one that's a spider though, and the pattern looks like it might be a bit too dark to be the killerbee I was wanting so badly. Anyway, here are the pics of the first pastel out. I'll get some of the rest as they each make their way out of their eggs!
